The first few days and weeks (for a new piercing) are probably the most important for your new Piercing. Make sure you care for it properly. Below is the healing procedure, do's and don'ts we recommend. Because each individual is different, this may not always be the best recommendation for each person.
#1 Wash Your Hands First:
Always wash your hands thoroughly with soap and warm water before touching or cleaning your piercing.
#2 Clean Twice a Day:
Use sterile saline solution. Spray on a Q-tip or Gauze pad, Gently clean around the piercing — no twisting or rotating jewelry!
#3 No Twisting or Turning Jewelry:
Twisting causes trauma and delays healing. Leave the jewelry exactly as ti is.
#4 Protect Your Piercing Avoid:
• Hair, phones, masks, makeup, and tight clothing that can snag or rub.
• Sleeping on fresh piercings — use a travel pillow or ear protectors.
• Makeup and skincare products near facial or ear piercings.
#5 No Swimming (For Now):
Avoid pools, lakes, hot tubs, and oceans for at least
4weeks (or longer fi not fuly healed). These introduce bacteria and irritants.
#6 Stay Healthy &Patient:
• Maintain a balanced diet and stay hydrated. • Avoid stress and excessive alcohol or smoking —they can slow healing.
• Avoid changing jewelry to early —ti can cause trauma or infection.
#7 Healing Times Vary (Average Ranges):
• Earlobe: 6-8 weeks
• Ear Cartilage: 4-12 months • Nostril: 2-6 months
• Septum: 6-8 weeks
• Eyebrow: 6-8 weeks
• Lip/Labret: 6-8 weeks • Tongue: 4-6 weeks
• Navel (Bely Buton): 6-12 months
• Nipple: 6-12 months
• Genital: 4-12 weeks (healing may vary by type and anatomy)
#8 When ot See a Professional:
Contact your piercer or a healthcare provider fi you experience:
• Excessive redness, heat, pain, or sweling
• Yelow/green discharge (not ot be confused with clear lymph crust)
• Alump that doesn't go down after weeks • Jewelry migration or rejection
#9Avoid This:
• Do not remove jewelry during healing, even fi ti
seems infected - ti can trap bacteria.
• Avoid pressure from helmets, tight waistbands,
or bras over healing piercings.
